Yuletide Redemption by Jill Kemerer

Yuletide Redemption by Jill Kemerer

After an accident leaves Celeste Monroe to raise her baby nephew, all she wants is to provide one-year-old Parker with a happy life. She hopes taking a job caring for injured Sam Sheffield will help fulfill that goal. But Sam's determination to avoid the world throws a wrench in her plans. Despite his best efforts, Sam can't take his eyes off the pretty caretaker. Her strength and her loving nature has him falling for her—and her baby. But he refuses to burden them with a man who's not whole. Can Celeste convince Sam he's daddy—and husband—material in time for them to celebrate Christmas together?

My Thoughts:
Often times I find these smaller books to be methodical, predictable, and shallow in their plot, characters, and writing but THIS is not one of those books. Yuletide Redemption is a wonderful Christmas story of two characters, Celeste Monroe and Sam Sheffield, who are hurting, struggling, and fighting to overcome adversity and find hope.

At first, I was sort of taken aback by the characters and their struggle. A car accident and a boating accident left each of them disfigured and focused on returning to their "normal". Their goal felt superficial-couldn't they just be happy to be alive? <-- This was the question I asked myself throughout but then Ms. Kemerer did this magical thing where she penned a story with two fictional characters who voiced, thought, and behaved in a very authentic way as they each discover the redemption their hearts needed in order for them to heal. And it brought me to tears. Literally.

This story will take readers on an emotional journey of what it really means to depend on the One whose grace is sufficient in our time of weakness. Grab a cup of cocoa, a fuzzy blanket, and park yourself next to a cozy fireplace to enjoy this Christmas story of redemption.
