Thrilling page turner, the first I've read of Mr. Threadgill's and this author knows how to keep you turning pages well into the night--not to mention leave you carrying this story around with you even when you HAVE to put the book down.
The gripping plot yanked me into a twisting story that had me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the female lead character and found her development authentic. Secondary characters enhanced the storyline with their unique personalities. The story was riveting and well written, like something ripped from a headline. The pacing is so quick that at about the 3/4 mark, the story got a little bogged down with the description/reasoning/explanation behind the action of the plot. It was like going 95mph to 35mph and I have to admit that I might've skimmed over some of the details that I didn't care about to get to what I did care about--the battle, revelation of truth, and conclusion. Even with that jarring speed bump the story was really good and I'm looking forward to reading more books by Mr. Threadgill.
